The coming days pose a significant fire risk in Greece, with extreme weather conditions likely to cause fires that can rapidly become uncontrollable. According to Civil Protection, strong northeasterly winds, drought and high temperatures will elevate many areas to an orange level of danger.

Fire Department and Civil Protection forces will be on high alert, prepared to respond immediately to any outbreaks.

Specifically, a very high risk of fire is forecasted for Sunday in Attica, Kythera, Boeotia, Evia, Argolis, areas of Phthiotis, Corinth and Laconia. The risk will also be high in much of the island and several mainland regions.

According to the Fire Risk Prediction Map issued by the Civil Protection of the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, a very high risk of fire (risk category 4) is predicted for the following areas on Sunday:

Region of Attica (including the island of Kythera)

Region of Central Greece (Boeotia, Evia, Phthiotis)

Region of Peloponnese (Corinth, Argolis, Laconia)
