Health Minister Adonis Georgiadis responded to a journalist’s question about staff shortages in hospitals, emphasizing that "the National Health System (NHS) may have problems but it is not collapsing; it is evolving, progressing, and getting better."

Georgiadis made these remarks during his visit to health facilities in Thessaloniki on Thursday, coinciding with the opening of the 88th Thessaloniki International Fair. He inaugurated the Special Melanoma Center at Hippokratio Hospital and the B' Hemodynamic Laboratory of the A' Cardiology Clinic at AHEPA University Hospital. Earlier, Georgiadis visited the "Nikos Kourkoulos" unit at Theageneio Hospital, the National Center for Emergency Care (EKAV) and Papageorgiou Hospital, where he was briefed on the progress of a new building dedicated to cellular and gene therapies and hematology labs. The project has a budget of 13.5 million euros.
