Smallpox case in sheep farm in an area of Serres

An case of smallpox was confirmed on a sheep farm in the village of Toumpa in Serres, in the Municipality of Emmanouil Pappa, according to an announcement by the Central Macedonia Region veterinary service on Monday. Protection and surveillance zones have been established, which span areas within a three- and ten-kilometre radius, respectively, of the infected farm, as well as the further prohibited zone, which includes five of the seven municipalities in the regional unit of Serres.
