EuroWorking Group to convene on Thursday in Brussels
The Eurogroup Working Group (EWG) will convene on Thursday in Brussels to examine Greece's development strategy after the end of the memorandum.
According to sources of the Athens-Macedonian News Agency (ANA), the heads of the institutions have already prepared a draft growth strategy that will be officially presented to the Greek Finance Minister Euclid Tsakalotos at the Eurogroup on April 27 in Sofia.
The plan will include measures to attract investments to Greece, the modernisation of public administration, friendly taxation to boost growth and the reduction of non-performing loans.
Regarding the fourth programme review, the heads of the institutions are expected to return to Athens in early May and the aim is to reach a staff level agreement by the Eurogroup on May 24.
For Brussels, however, the milestone is June 21. So the Eurogroup will have to decide on the overall package for completing the Greek programme, which will include: 1) conclusion of the fourth review, 2) development strategy, 3) debt measures, and 4) "post-programme" surveillance.
