Tsipras: Greek defence forces would not participate in a military operation in Syria

The two leaders discussed recent developments in Syria. Tsipras pointed out the necessity for decisive initiatives by the EU and the search for a peaceful solution on the basis of Sweden's proposal, government sources said.

The two men focused on Turkey's role and actions in the greater region and discussed the strengthening of Greek-French defence cooperation.

They also discussed the Cyprus issue and Greek-Cypriot collaboration on energy, the FYROM name issue and EU-Turkish relations.
