Kikilias: The target to extend the tourism season is becoming action

The target to extend the tourism season is being realised in action, stated Tourism Minister Vassilis Kikilias on Tuesday from the city of Kavala, noting that the promotion of alternative destinations, even off season, creates additional value for local economies.

Kikilias said that Greece is a country blessed with beautiful landscapes, exceptional gastronomy and hospitality, while noting that "it has huge potential to extend the tourism product with the development of the available funding tools and the promotion of thematic tourism in many regions that don't have as strong a brand as Kavala".

"I am glad to see that our target of extending the tourism season is becoming action. We are cooperating with the Chamber for the development of infrastructure projects through RRF sources and in collaboration with private companies. At the same time, I announce that the Greek National Tourism Organisation in cooperation with municipalities, regions and the private sector will promote to the whole world the beauties of Eastern Macedonia," the minister underlined.
