Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias is visiting Albania on Wednesday where he will have talks with his Albanian counterpart Olta Xhaçka, the foreign ministry said in an announcement.

The two ministers will meet in private and afterwards the two delegations will hold broad deliberations. Statements to the press will follow.

Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama is to host a lunch in Dendias' honour.

The discussions are expected to focus on the course of Greek-Albanian bilateral relations in a wide range of sectors, on current international and regional developments, such as the Russian invasion of Ukraine and developments in the Eastern Mediterranean, as well as issues concerning the Western Balkans' EU perspective.

During his stay in Tirana, Dendias will visit the Arsakeio Greek-Albanian College and the Albanian-American school Protagonists, which operates under the "Spirit of Love" Foundation of the Orthodox Autocephalous Church of Albania.

Dendias previously visited Albania in October 2020 and May 2022, while Xhaçka visited Greece in early December.
