Online platform for 'Market Pass' applications opens on Tuesday

"The online platform for submitting 'Market Pass' applications will open on Tuesday. Beneficiaries are approximately 85% of Greek households," government spokesman, Yiannis Economou, said on Monday during a press briefing.

He added that from next Wednesday the 'household basket' will be expanded by 9 categories of products.

Economou also pointed out that according to official figures, inflation in Greece is decreasing and is lower than most European countries. "This does not mean that the problem has been solved, but it means that our policies bear fruit and we are on the right track," he underlined adding that efforts will continue.

He also said: "Throughout the long and difficult period of the crises we are by the side of society and we have proven in practice that we do not leave anyone helpless and we will continue in this way as long as the crises persist."
