They will gather at Mavili Square at 08:30 in the morning, before marching to the Health Ministry on Aristotelous street downtown.

In its statement, POEDIN claims lack of sufficient state funding and understaffing as key reasons for their mobilization. They also say that the overdue debts of the country's public hospitals exceed 1 billion euros.

Meanwhile, in a separate development, staff at the state Children's Hospital "Agia Sofia" said they will hold a work stoppage (08:00 to 15:00) on Wednesday, to protest a new law changing the status of the oncological department into a private entity.

"Floga", the association of parents of children with cancer, expressed concern over the status change, saying that the oncological department "is not and cannot be considered an independent hospital unit." Instead, it is part of drop-in services and wards that depend directly on the rest of the hospital's deparatments.

After gathering at the hospital's central gate on Wednesday, the staff will join POEDIN's mobilization.
