OSE traffic inspector remanded in custody after testifying to examining magistrate

A traffic inspector of Hellenic Railways Organisation (OSE) was remanded in custody after his extremely lengthy testimony to the appellate-level examining magistrate conducting the investigation into tragic rail accident in Tempi, according to an announcement on Friday.

The inspector, who was responsible for assigning shifts to the station masters, allegedly argued that he was not responsible for the way the station masters performed their duties on the fateful night of the accident.

All three station masters on duty that night, in addition to the traffic inspector, face criminal charges of disrupting transportation, as well as multiple counts of manslaughter and causing bodily harm through negligence.
