Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias in an interview with the Sunday edition of Makedonia newspaper said that "we are fully aware of the difficulties in our bilateral relations with Türkiye. We are watching closely the developments and hope for the preservation of the calmness and in parallel we remain focused on our adamant position for sincere and constructive dialogue for the resolution of our difference in the context of the International Law and the International Law of the Sea".

Referring to the relations between Greece and Cyprus he underlined that "the Cyprus issue is our national top priority for which Greece demands a fair and sustainable solution based on the bi-zonal, bi-communal federation according to the UN Security Council's resolutions".

Dendias also said that he is absolutely convinced that "the climate that has been formed in the Greek-Turkish relations, and which we are hoping to continue and after the elections in Türkiye, can positively contribute to the efforts for the resolution of the Cyprus issue and for the peace and security in the wider region.

Asked on the Greek elections, he said that "the issue at stake is the smooth course of the country to continue and not to return to the conditions of instability and uncertainty of the period of the Memoranda".
