On issues related to sexual violence, there are no gray zones or equal treatment of perpetrator and victim, SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance leader Alexis Tsipras said in coastal Lavrio, southeastern Attica, on Tuesday.

At a campaign speech, the main opposition leader referred to Greek actor and Syriza MEP Alexis Georgoulis, whose immunity Belgian authorities asked be lifted to face charges of sexual harassment, following a complaint filed 3 years ago. Syriza has expelled him from the party.

"Everyone has the right to be judged by justice, and is presumed innocent" until that judgment, Tsipras said. But in such issues, there should be "no coverup, no tolerance, no shadow, regardless of how high anyone might be," he added.

The Syriza leader underlined, "Everyone, especially all of us who have children and especially boys, should teach our children how to behave and that we must respect and value, above all, dignity and human beings. There is no room for violence, no room for tolerance in the face of violence. Justice everywhere, therefore."
