The Northern Aegean regional authority, in response to a proposal made by the Samos Hoteliers Union and in an effort to strengthen the flow of tourists from the Turkish market, will host over 100 travel agents and tour operators from all the Turkish regions on the island of Samos on May 5-7.

The hospitality programme will include tours and excursions on the island, as well as special events to promote the tourism product with a focus on alternative forms of tourism.

Northern Aegean governor Konstantinos Moutzouris noted that exchanges in the sector of tourism may help cultivate and maintain a good climate in Greek-Turkish relations, which improved following Greece's assistance in the wake of the major earthquakes in Türkiye. He underlined that "The Turkish tourism market, apart from being a competitor for attracting tourists from the international market, is also itself a very good market from which we can draw tourists to our islands".
