Mitsotakis: Elections will determine whether Greece moves ahead or returns to a wretched past
The national elections on May 21 will determine whether Greece will move into the future or return to the past, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said in Argostoli, Kefalonia island, on Thursday.
Mitsotakis referred to the previous government as he described the alternate to a second-year term as one of "wretchedness, high taxes, open borders, and a country that had no standing, unfortunately, as you well remember, in Europe and the rest of the world."
Mitsotakis, who also paid a visit to the town of Lixouri on the Ionian island, was speaking at Argostoli's center and referred extensively to the economy, summarizing the government's focus on the next term, which will prioritize raising wages and attracting more investments.
On the island, the PM also paid a visit to an innovative winery, and was given a tour of the vineyard and the production facility.
