Mother of three, suspected of killing eldest, to stand trial over her youngest children as well
A mother of three, on trial for the murder of her eldest daughter in 2022, will stand trial for the death of her youngest two daughters as well, according to her lawyer on Friday.
Lawyer Alexis Kougias also announced that he had requested an evaluation by two psychiatrists for Roula Pispirigou, to determine if she suffers from Munchausen Syndrome.
Pispirigou was arrested in Patras, southern Greece, in March 2022 after toxicological and histological tests had revealed ketamine in the body of Georgina, 9, who died in January 2022 at hospital. Doctors denied having prescribed the powerful anesthetic for the child.
She stands accused of also killing Malena, 3.5, who died at hospital in April 2019, and and Iris, 6 months old, who died at home in March 2021.
A coroners' report had said that the deaths of Georgina's younger sisters were not the result of natural causes, but of asphyxiation.
