Dialogue is an effective means of peacefully resolving disputes, Dendias says

"Dialogue is an effective means of peacefully resolving disputes," Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias said on Friday in his article on Euro2day.gr, in which he looked back on his tenure at the foreign ministry over the last four years.

"As we are in an international environment, which is constantly changing, we are required to carry out our duties precisely under these conditions," Dendias said. "It is therefore necessary to have some stable points of reference, to rely on principles that allow the effective formulation and implementation of our foreign policy," he added.

These, as he noted, are: "Adherence to International Law and the International Law of the Sea, respect for the independence and territorial integrity of states, defence of peace, democracy, stability, the rule of law, human rights and environmental protection."
