Migration Minister Esdras to participate in EU Justice and Home Affairs Council

Minister for Migration and Asylum of the caretaker government, Daniel Esdras, will participate in the EU Justice and Home Affairs Council held in Luxembourg, on June 8-9 2022, under the Swedish presidency.

The aim of the Council's work is to reach an agreement on the migration management system and the regulation on asylum procedures with a view to starting negotiations with the European Parliament on the new European Pact on Migration and Asylum.

The agenda also includes issues related to the state of the Schengen area, as well as cooperation with external partners to manage migration pressures, according to the ministry's announcement.
