"Many positive steps have been taken over the past years in infrastructure and transport, but challenges lie ahead. Problems exist and always will. However, we must, as much as we can, limit any risks that may emerge. The main priorities we have set are to implement the major infrastructure projects, among which there are some very emblematic ones in Greece, to further promote high-quality 'green' transport services, to promote safety in infrastructure and transport, and to strengthen mobility and accessibility," he underlined.

Regarding urban transport and trains, Staikouras pointed out that "the priority of the government is the modernization of the network and the safety of passengers."
