Greek stocks end at new 9-year highs
The index jumped 1.10% to close at 1,292.72 points, the highest closing since June 20, 2014. The Large Cap index rose 1.10% and the Mid Cap index ended 1.46% higher. Turnover was 85.39 million euros in volume of 22,649,031 shares.
Lamda Development (6.31%), Piraeus Port (5.78%) and Aegean Airlines (3.70%) scored big gains among blue chip stocks, while Quest Holdings (-1.64%), Hellenic Petroleum (-1.02%) and GEK Terna (-0.98%) suffered losses. Among market sectors, Real Estate (4.67%) and Financial Services (2.52%) moved up, while Telecoms (-0.69%) and Food (-0.48%) moved down.
Alpha Bank and Eurobank were the most heavily traded securities of the day. Broadly, advancers led decliners by 70 to 38, with another 17 issues unchanged. Athens Medical (9.04%) and Minerva (7.14%) were top gainers, while VIS (-7.14%) and Nakas (-4.86%) were top losers.
