Very high risk of fire on Wednesday

Strong northerly winds of up to 8 on the Beaufort scale in the Aegean and in eastern Greece, in combination with the very hot and dry conditions prevailing in the country over the last few days have significantly increased the flammability of the forest fuel. The pyrometeorological conditions on Tuesday and Wednesday are expected to be classed as the highly dangerous for wildfires weather type Hot-Dry-Windy.

Finally, the latest available data show the adverse pyrometeorological conditions will continue over the coming days as temperatures will significantly increase.
