Athens is closely monitoring the developments in Niger, foreign ministry says
The Greek Foreign Ministry is monitoring developments in Niger with concern and great attention, according to an announcement issued by the ministry on Wednesday.
The announcement also condemned the arbitrary arrests of officials, politicians and members of the government and every attempt to seize power with the use of force, thereby leading to the overthrow of the democratically elected government and threatening stability in the Sahel.
It stressed, in fact, that democratic institutions and constitutional order must be restored as soon as possible.
