Missing Sudanese found dead in canal connected to the Aliakmonas river

The dead body of a 21-year-old Sudanese man, who had been missing since July 26 after he went swimming in the Aliakmonas River, was found near the northern Greek town of Veria, according to an announcement on Thursday.

The young man was living in the refugee facility of Aghia Varvara and had gone swimming with a group of people when all trace of him was suddenly lost, in as yet unknown circumstances. The body was located in a canal connected to the Aliakmonas river.
