Androulakis: Citizen protection ministry and police need to give immediate answers
"The murder of a young person, one more victim of blind fan violence, shocks us. As do the savage incidents that occurred in Nea Philadelphia," opposition PASOK-KINAL leader Nikos Androulakis said on Tuesday.
He was commenting on the clashes between rival soccer team fans around the AEK stadium that led to the murder of one AEK supporter and the injury of another eight people.
"We demand immediate answers regarding the planning of the security measures from the Citizen Protection ministry and the leadership of the police ahead of the football match and also the unprecedented fact that, in spite of a ban on the movement of fans by UEFA, a convoy of hundreds of hooligans crossed the country without being spotted and stopped by the police force," he added.
