Passengers and crew member evacuated from stranded cruise ship
The 46 passengers and one crew member on a cruise ship that ran aground in the Kisiria strait, within the tiny Fourni island complex, were taken to the port of Fourni in two coast guard vessels on Sunday morning.
The Saint Kitts and Nevis-flagged cruise ship, with 22 crew members on board, has already had a tow line to a tugboat attached, while a second tugboat is due to arrive so that they can attempt the tow.
North, northwesterly winds of up to 4 Beaufort were blowing in the area.
According to a coast guard announcement, there were no reports that the cruise ship was taking on water or of injuries. A private diver was called in to inspect the ship's hull.
