Kasselakis: Our thoughts are with the people of Israel and Palestine

Kasselakis added, "It is extremely important that the message of the UN secretary general, urging all sides for maximum restraint and protection of the civilian population according to the international humanitarian law, be supported by the entire international community," along with supporting diplomatic efforts, to prevent a widespread conflict in the region.

"In this context, organised international efforts for a ceasefire should be launched, for the purpose of restarting of talks for the resolution of a two-state peaceful co-existence, based on the borders of 1967, with East Jerusalem being the capital of Palestine."
