The government will cooperate with all the elected officials, Marinakis says
The government will cooperate with all the elected officials of the regional and local administration, government spokesperson Pavlos Marinakis said during a press briefing on Monday.
Marinakis congratulated those who were elected and underlined that four months ago we had double national elections where - as he said - the society's trust in New Democracy and in the prime minister was recorded. He also pointed out that the result in the first round of the elections revealed the citizens' political choices adding that the government takes into serious account the results of both rounds of the elections. "The government will keep its feet on the ground. We will implement our programme in cooperation with all entities," Marinakis said.
The government spokesperson also said that the ministerial decision has been issued for the implementation of lower prices on basic products and emphasized that the goal is to deal with the inflationary crisis. He added that so far a hundred companies have cooperated and the goal is to reach 500 companies. The targeting of the decision is affordable prices, Marinakis stressed.
Referring to the payment of compensation to those affected by the storm in Thessaly, he said that it continued and the last one was given on October 13, while a total of 65 million euros have been granted to 14,000 citizens.
The government spokesman also said that Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis is in Tirana where he will take part in the Summit of the Berlin Process and sent a clear message to Albania, saying that the Prime Minister supports the European perspective of the Western Balkans, but a basic condition for this is for each country to embrace European values and respect international law.
