Greek Tourism Min Kefalogianni meets with high-level officials in Monaco

Greek Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni visited the Principality of Monaco in October 18-20, where she met with state officials on the sidelines of an ecological symposium, it was reported on Friday.

Kefalogianni met with Minister of State of Monaco Pierre Dartout and with Monaco Finance Minister Marco Piccinini, who is also in charge of implementing tourism policy. She also met with Prince Albert II of Monaco and Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, both of whom spoke at the symposium.

The Greek minister referred to the Greek government's efforts and initiatives at national, European and international level for environmental protection. She also referred to the need for collective efforts to prevent and deal with the impact of climate change overall, but especially in tourism.

With Piccinini, Kefalogianni discussed tourism matters in terms of investments, exchange of know-how and partnerships to address common challenges, such as the effects of climate change on Mediterranean countries.

She also met with representatives of Société des Bains de Mer, a company which controls most of Monaco's tourism infrastructure, and she discussed investments with Greek business people active in Monaco's tourism industry.
