Four members of Rouvikonas group arrested

Four members of Greek anarchist group 'Rouvikonas' (Rubicon) were arrested on Sunday, including a leading member of the organisation. According to the police, they were linked to an attack on a store in Nea Ionia on October 28 in which two people were injured.

They were charged with disturbing the peace, causing dangerous bodily harm and damaging private property, as well as violating weapons laws.

According to the Hellenic Police, the attack took place on Saturday afternoon when a group of approximately 15 people, having parked their vehicles in Nea Ionia, went to the store with their features concealed and caused damage, while two people present at the time were also injured.

Searches were conducted by police forces to locate those responsible, while the police investigation that followed revealed the participation of the accused in the attack on the store.

In this context, six motorcycles and a jockey cap were found and confiscated.

Those arrested will be taken before the competent prosecuting authority.
