PASOK-KINAL leader Nikos Androulakis met with several officials on the first day of the 2023 Congress of the Party of European Socialists (PES) that is being held in Malaga, Spain on Nov. 10-11, it was reported on Saturday.

Specifically, he met with the Prime Minister of Spain Pedro Sanchez, with the Chair of the Group of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists & Democrats in the European Parliament, Iratxe Garcia Perez, with the Prime Minister of Romania Marcel Tsolaku, with the leader of the Israeli Labour Party Merav Michaeli, with the Secretary General of the International Union of Socialist Youth (IUSY) Bruno Goncalves and also with IUSY President Hend Mgaieth.

Androulakis on Friday had noted that he will mention anew his proposal for a European Economic Sovereignty Fund, which he said "will support weak economies to create a competitive, outward-looking productive base with many good jobs."

Androulakis is also meeting with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz at 11:20 am (local time) on Saturday.
