Greek stocks end higher

Greek stocks edged higher on the Athens Stock Exchange on Thursday in thin trading conditions, due to a holiday in Wall Street to celebrate Thanksgiving Day in the US.

The general index of the market rose 0.14% to close at 1,260.52 points, the Large Cap index ended 0.08% up and the Mid Cap index edged 0.08% up. Turnover was a thin 77.134 million euros in volume of 20,388,521 shares.

Elvalhalcor (3.07%), Ellaktor (1.79%) and Mytilineos (1.79%) scored big gains among blue chip stocks, while Jumbo (-3.91%), Viohalco (-1.08%) and Quest (-0.87%) suffered losses. Among market sectors, Industrial Products (1.56%) and Health (1.07%) moved up, while Personal Products (-3.51%) and Telecoms (-0.85%) moved down. Eurobank and Alpha Bank were the most heavily traded securities of the market. Broadly, advancers decliners by 53 to 51, with another 19 issues unchanged. Doppler (8.44%) and Intralot (7.03%) were top gainers, while Frigoglass (-9.66%) and Lazaridis Estate (-6.77%) were top losers.
