Taxi drivers hold 48-hour strike
Taxi drivers in Athens are holding a 48-hour strike on Tuesday, December 5 and Wednesday, December 6, requesting the withdrawal of the draft law on taxation.
"The tax bill under consideration is a clear intention to destroy every form of individual entrepreneurship. It is a brutal murder of human dignity and the values that a democratic country is supposed to provide to its citizens. The government's economic staff planned the death of thousands of professionals, including taxi drivers. The taxi is in danger of extinction. Their intention is to exterminate us financially and force us to hand over our licenses to multinationals and large business groups," they said in a statement.
