Three suspects for 'Greek Mafia' mobster assassinations led before prosecutor
Three persons arrested as suspects for the assassinations of alleged members of the criminal organisation known as the 'Greek Mafia' - Yiannis Skaftouros, Vassilis Roubetis and Dionyssis Mouzakitis - were led before a public prosecutor on Thursday.
They include two men, aged 29 and 39, respectively, who were arrested on Wednesday afternoon and a third suspect arrested on Wednesday evening during police raids on a residence where cartridges for Kalashnikov rifles were found. It is not yet clear whether the third individual arrested was involved in committing the murders or was an associate of those who carried out the killings.
A total of eight inviduals are included in the case file put together by the homicide team, of which one is being sought, two are believed to have fled abroad and the rest are in prison.
The members of the group are facing charges for participation in a criminal organisation, three homicides and three attempted murders.
