FM Gerapetritis: Greece in favour of the deepening of the EU-Egypt relations

Foreign Minister George Gerapetritis welcomed on Monday his Egyptian counterpart Sameh Shoukry at the EU Foreign Ministers' breakfast.

Gerapetritis said that Greece is in favour of the deepening of the EU relations with Egypt and also strongly supports their upgrading to strategic.

Egypt, he noted, is a regional pillar of stability holding a key role in the regional developments.

Gerapetritis, who last Wednesday visited Cairo and met with Shoukry and Egyptian President Sisi, will take part in the EU-Egypt Association Council that will be held on Tuesday in Brussels.
