Ships remain docked due to strong winds

Ships remained docked at several Greek ports on Wednesday, as north-northeasterly winds in the Aegean Sea reached 9 on the Beaufort scale.

The ban on sailing from Piraeus, Rafina, and Lavrio was still in effect, while the schedules for the Saronic Gulf were only carried out by closed-type boats.

Also shut down were the ferry lines of Aghia Marina-Nea Stira, Volos-Sporades Islands, Kavala-Prinos and Alexandroupolis-Samothrace.

Authorities are advising passengers planning to travel to contact local port authorities and travel agencies for possible changes in schedules.
