"Those guilty of the Tempi accident will be punished," Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said on Sunday in his weekly post on social media on the government's work. He also expressed his confidence in Justice, stressing his certainty that "it will rise to the occasion in order to demonstrate the truth."

Mitsotakis expressed his belief that Justice will investigate and respond to "all allegations, even the most extreme ones," and added:

"No shadow should be left that poisons public life and trust in institutions. Even if it takes a little more time."

The Greek premier congratulated the police on their successes and pledged that "more police officers will patrol the streets and the neighborhoods."

The prime minister also referred to high super market prices saying that the first messages are encouraging and a decrease in initial prices is recorded in more than 4,000 products, which - as he said - means that the final prices will also move lower. "The battle with high prices will not stop here, we will continue to take every appropriate measure, correcting the distortions in the price formation mechanisms and intensifying controls on the market always for the benefit of the consumer and the competition," Mitsotakis said noting that he will create a new institutional framework "to heal one of the 'wounds' of the market, the falsely designated Greek products that come at the expense of our producers, consumers and ultimately our economy."
