Justice Ministry committee discusses use of AI to facilitate judicial procedures
The Ministry of Justice convened on Monday the Permanent Scientific Committee, reconstituted by Minister Georgios Floridis to discuss the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into the judicial system.
Chaired by Vice President of the Council of State Konstantinos Kousoulis, the committee discussed various topics including:
- Ministry of Justice initiatives regarding AI applications
- Implementation of AI applications at the Athens Court of First Instance for electronic dissemination of judicial decisions to lawyers
- Pilot programs for document summarization and redaction of personal data, and
- Digital assistants to aid in drafting judicial documents and providing guidance on Greek legal services to citizens and lawyers.
Updates were also provided on AI applications, particularly in the drafting of judicial decision summaries.
