The European elections is not just an opportunity to send a simple message, but constitute a crossroads for the continued progress of the country, government representative Pavlos Marinakis said on Saturday in his speech at the New Democracy (ND) Congress.

Marinakis pointed out that the ND's opponents "wanted to convince us that they have a monopoly on social and democratic sensitivity, but they were refuted" and added that "the party of New Democracy did not deceive the citizens like others who became the government and fell from 35% to 17%."

He emphasized that ND is its people and they are proud of their ideas, while noting that "our party knows how to welcome new members and people from different starting points."

Marinakis also pointed out that ND has morals and emphasized that "we are not all the same, we told the truth when others said there was enough money."

He also said that there is still much that the government can do to fully implement its programme, reiterating that the European elections are a crossroads for prosperity, and concluded by saying that the government's work has a strong foundation.
