IPTO outlines benefits of the Greece-Cyprus-Israel electrical interconnection
If an autonomous development project is adopted, a very large storage capacity will be required, skyrocketing the cost of RES production, significantly burdening Cypriot consumers, according to the Independent Power Transmission Operator (IPTO).
This is what IPTO pointed out in an informative note on the benefits of the Greece-Cyprus-Israel electrical interconnection, in view of the discussions on the project that are being held these days.
It is noted that the administration of IPTO will be in Cyprus on Tuesday where it will hold a meeting with officials of the Ministry of Energy and the Regulatory Authority of Israel on maturing the Cyprus-Israel interconnection. A trilateral conference of Greece, Cyprus and Israel under the coordination of IPTO and with the presence of the Administrators will follow.
