Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis underlined Greece's strategic position in terms of the energy interconnectivity, at his arrival at the Summit of the Three Seas Initiative in Vilnius, stating that Greece's importance could justify the re-naming of the process into Four Seas Initiative.

Mitsotakis noted that Greece became official member of the Three Seas Initiative in 2023 and his visit to Lithuania is the first time he represents Greece at this significant meeting "which is held in a period of major geopolitical turmoil in Europe."

The Greek premier said that "Greece can significantly contribute to the Initiative by opening up the southern route of connectivity, whether it concerns rail and road connectivity or energy, as we can become the natural entry point for energy - either natural gas or energy from renewable sources - from the south to the north."

"So, I am looking forward to the interesting discussions we will have at today's meeting", Mitsotakis said.
