Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, who was touring the island of Chios on Friday, sent a message to rally voters and warned against 'protest' voting.
Mitsotakis, who visited the Town Hall of Chios and the region of Northern Aegean's headquarters earlier on Friday, stated: "Consider how more difficult are things in 2024 in comparison with 2019 in terms of geopolitical instability, with a war in Ukraine and a front raging in the Middle East. Europe will be called upon in the next five years to play a very strong geopolitical role and Greece should hold a key role in Europe's transformation into a new geopolitical force. We have reasons and an interest in being a protagonist in this major effort," Mitsotakis said, addressing the gathered citizens.
Referring to the European elections, he said that political stability is at stake in these elections and the citizens will again send the message that, essentially, nothing has changed since the mandate the government was given in June 2023 to rule for another four years and to set in motion the major changes that the country needs.
