Staikouras: 110 electric buses to hit Thessaloniki's streets by mid-June

By mid-June all 110 electric buses of the Organisation of Urban Transportation of Thessaloniki (OASTh) will go into operation in Thessaloniki, Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Christos Staikouras said on Wednesday while visiting the construction site of the bus charging station in the suburb of Stavroupoli.

"The progress of the project since May 19, when we last visited the same site, is significant. Today, 41 chargers are operational, capable of charging 164 buses in an 8-hour period. The remaining 14 chargers will be operational in 10 days," Staikouras noted.

He emphasized that 88 electric buses are already on the streets of Thessaloniki and "by mid-June, at the latest, the full fleet of 110 electric buses will be deployed. We are adhering to the timelines we have set," he stated.
