Wildfire breaks out on the island of Rhodes

A fire broke out in a forested area on the island of Rhodes, near the village Psinthos, on Wednesday.

According to sources, the front is at a distance of 3-4 km from the first houses in the village.

Firefighters and volunteers have rushed to the area in order to prevent the fire from spreading. Three firefighting aircraft based on Rhodes and a helicopter are making continuous drops over the front in an effort to extinguish the flames.
