The measures the government of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis announced to fight high prices "are, in the best of circumstances, inadequate," SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance said on Sunday.

In a statement, the main opposition party said, "Mr. Mitsotakis cannot hide his panic over the results of the European elections, that's why he is apologizing after the fact to citizens for the high prices, which vaporizes their income."

SYRIZA also claimed that the measures the PM has introduced are not new, as he claims, "but measures that were tried and failed, as the recent Eurostat report showed that related to prices on basic goods in Greece compared to the European Union, for the year 2023."

It reiterated that Party leader Stefanos Kasselakis "has repeatedly requested that SYRIZA's proposal to deal with inflation comes to parliament immediately for debate. The recycling of half-measures fools no one and, mainly, does not resolve the issue."
