A wildfire that started on Monday at Antimachia on the island of Kos was raging out of control due to strong winds blowing in the area. The blaze was heading to the village Kardamaina, where a number of hotels and other types of tourist accommodation are located.

A message from the 112 number was sent to those in Kardamaina on Monday, instructing them to leave the area and head toward Antimachia.
