British tourist dies while swimming on Skiathos island

A 66-year-old woman from Britain died while swimming at the area Achladies on Skiathos island on Friday.

The woman was on holidays and left her hotel to go swimming. Probably, due to the intense heat she fell unconscious. The woman was found by a lifeguard who pulled her out onto the beach.

According to information, both the lifeguard and a private doctor performed CPR on the 66-year-old British woman. An ambulance took her immediately to the local health centre where they tried to bring her back to life without result.

The woman's body will be sent to Volos for post mortem examination.
