Hellenic Train inaugurates new commercial platform for ticket purchases

Hellenic Train on Thursday announced its entry into a new digital era with the launch of a new commercial platform for buying train tickets. From October 8, passengers will be able to purchase tickets through the new platform, which offers upgraded services, new graphics and features through a simple registration process.

Registered users of the new commercial platform (HT New Platform) will be able to manage their journeys online, without the need to visit the company's ticket offices in person.

Specifically, passengers will now be able to:

- modify their ticket to a a different date and time on the same route, free of charge

- exchange a ticket for a new one, paying or being refunded for the price difference with the old one

- cancel their ticket or card and get a refund, according to the method of purchase

- receive compensation for delayed train departures

The new commercial platform is presented as a "green" solution, as all tickets are issued digitally, while offering a new experience to passengers.

Henceforth, passengers will enjoy the same experience through all ticket purchase channels (ticket offices, internet, mobile apps). At the same time, the security of transactions is increased by the adoption of electronic ticket standards, which protect the systems against the risk of electronic fraud. The new commercial platform also ensures interoperability with other ticketing platforms as they evolve into a unified environment.
