The establishment of a Higher School of Performing Arts (HSPA) is a 'comprehensive' legislation that comes after the 'artists request', Education, Religion and Sports Minister Kyriakos Pierrakakis said on Friday in an interview with SKAI TV.

The bill "is being discussed with the ministreis of Culture and Interior," the minister said, adding that the HSPA will follow the model of the Higher School of Fine Arts, will include five faculties, among them the National Theatre. "We have had extensive dialogue and the debate will continue in the consultation. We will talk to the artists, to the institutions and to the other parties. It is a unifying bill," he noted.

Regarding the internationalisation of Greek public universities, Pierrakakis announced that partnerships with foreign universities for post-graduate studies to be carried out in Greece will be announced "in a few months."

"The strategy is internationalisation to become a regional centre of education," he stressed.
