Cocaine valued at over 2.3 mln euros confiscated from banana container in Piraeus
Nearly 51 kilograms of cocaine hidden in a contained with bananas was located and confiscated by customs inspectors of the Independent Authority of Public Revenue (AADE) in Piraeus on Thursday.
Nearly 51 kilograms of cocaine hidden in a contained with bananas was located and confiscated by customs inspectors of the Independent Authority of Public Revenue (AADE) in Piraeus on Thursday.
AADE said the cocaine, valued at over 2.3 million euros and originating from South America, was found in 50 packages whose final destination was Piraeus. The packages were found in the container's cooling machinery and with the help of a detection dog (Max).
The inspection operation was carried out by AADE, the Narcotics Subdivision of the Directorate for Countering Organized Crime, the Coast Guard, and the Financial Crimes Unit of the National Economy & Finance ministry.
