"New Democracy (ND) is not used to following the opposition's agenda but in the last month it has followed PASOK's agenda with respect to the high cost of living, in health and banking issues," main opposition PASOK-Movement for Change leader Nikos Androulakis stated at an interview late Wednesday with ONE TV.

"During the last month we have been 'bombarding' the government in parliament in order to demonstrate something simple, which is our main goal: to show that there is an alternative government policy. It is PASOK's policy, which is fair, progressive, transparent and meritocratic and which can make this country turn the page," Androulakis underlined.

Regarding his meeting on Wednesday with Foreign Minister George Gerapetritis, Androulakis referred to the issue of Greek-Turkish relations: "I am not say we should not talk - but without deluding ourselves. When I see very high expectations 'floating' above geopolitical reality and couched in terms of domestic political consumption, I consider this a mistaken practice," he said.

On the latest developments in Syria, Androulakis underlined that "it is good to say that a dictator with a barbarous regime has left but we must also look at what is coming. We cannot forget the medieval practices of Islamic State a few years ago, the beheadings, and then there is the very bad scenario of this country becoming a new 'Afghanistan' in our neighborhood. And I say in our neighborhood because we now have to think in these terms."
