The Greek Orthodox Archbishop of Albania Anastasios, who was rushed to Athens from Tirana, is being treated at “Evangelismos” Hospital.
The Greek Orthodox Archbishop of Albania Anastasios, who was rushed to Athens from Tirana, is being treated at “Evangelismos” Hospital. He is undergoing health checks so that doctors can decide whether he will be treated in an intensive care unit or in a room. Anastasios is reportedly not intubated and is communicating with his surroundings.The C-27J aircraft that airlifted him from Tirana landed at 19:34 at the Elefsina air base.The aircraft was carrying a doctor and two rescuers, members of the National Center for Emergency Care's flying medical team, who accompanied the 95-year-old Archibishop during the airlift.Since December 30, Archbishop Anastasios had been hospitalized in Tirana Hospital with a virus. His health condition deteriorated, and he developed gastro-bleeding, and it was deemed necessary to transfer him to "Evangelismos" hospital.
